The Poetry Promenade

Imagined and created by Gaston Bellemare, this city walking tour allows for tourists to discover 300 excerpts of poems of Quebec poets on plaques placed on walls all around downtown.

At the end of the walk, the visitor can put his or her own poem in the Box of Poems.

Every year, these writings are gathered on a CD put inside the Monument to the Unknown Poet, located in Place de l’Hôtel de Ville.

Trois-Rivières is also the only city in the world where on February 14, Saint-Valentine’s Day, the mayor lays a spray of flowers in front of the Monument to the Unknown Poet, in hommage to all the poets of the world.
